Everyone perceives and processes information differently, therefore I have integrated the VARK learning styles to support you in getting the most from 52 Ways to Transform Your Life from Okay to WOW! – An Interactive Workbook for Busy Adults. Individuals can use this book for personal growth and development or in a workshop or study group setting. So, what is VARK? “V” is for visual. Some of us enjoy learning by looking so I have included three quotes and three personal, original affirmations neatly presented in an eye-catching format to emphasize the topic in each chapter that will enhance the learning experience of the visual learner. “A” is for aural. Some of us would rather listen. I have included suggestions for CDs and YouTube clips of meditations and music that pertain to several chapters. “R” is for read/write. In addition to reading this interactive book, there are writing exercises. Since writing is the underpinning that solidifies thought, your experience to further support you in your personal growth and development is greatly enhanced. “K” is for kinesthetic. Many of us would just prefer a hands-on experience. Each chapter contains ideas and suggestions for different activities to assist you in your personal growth and development. The Visual, Aural and Reading/Writing components of VARK are fulfilled in the Quotes and Affirmations section of each chapter. Depending upon the activity for a particular week, Visual, Aural, Reading/Writing, and/or Kinesthetic learning modalities are fulfilled in the Activity section of the chapter. I have kept the activities short, sweet and simple so that you, the busy adult, won’t feel overwhelmed when you learn what each activity requires you to do. To get started, slowly flip through the book first. Then go back to Week One followed by one chapter per week for 52 weeks, or double up and complete it in 26 weeks. Try four per week for 13 weeks! Whether you go it alone or with others, the results you achieve will astonish you. You will notice greater joy, peace, harmony and ease of decision-making in your daily routine. Nothing is guaranteed, but I do know what works from personal experience. I have chosen six of my favorite authors from the quotes used in this book and have created a separate section at the end of the book entitled, “Dive Deeper…If You Dare.” Here you will find a little something about several authors such as Wayne Dyer, author of The Power of Intention; Alan Cohen, author of Dare to be Yourself; and Jon Kabat-Zinn, author of Mindfulness for Beginners, to round out your experience and introduce you to resources for further exploration. This second printing of my book has a very special addition to Week 13, Creativity. Three paintings I created many years ago have been converted to black and white for your coloring pleasure, as well as a recently created black and white drawing. So be creative and enjoy letting your inner artist step outside your comfort zone to experience the joy and freedom that awaits you!
