About Knabstrupper Horses:

The Knabstrupper is a Danish breed of horse known for its distinctive spotted coat pattern, similar to the Appaloosa. The breed originated in Denmark in 1812 from a single spotted mare named Flaebehoppen. Knabstruppers can have several coat patterns, with the leopard pattern (white coat covered with colored spots) being the most prized and dramatic. The black leopard pattern features a white base coat with black spots of varying sizes distributed across the body. Knabstruppers are warmblood horses standing 15.2-16 hands high, known for their intelligence, trainability, and gentle temperament. They excel in dressage, show jumping, and as circus horses—their striking appearance and willing nature made them favorites in European circuses.
